Chesapeake Life Center offers various facilitated support groups, allowing individuals to explore grief while sharing the experiences of others in an environment of trust. Groups are structured to meet for 6 to 8 consecutive weeks or as a drop-in group that meets monthly. Below, we have included an overview of the adult support groups we offer.  For more information about support groups for children and teens, please visit our children and families page.  Specific dates and times may be viewed on our program schedule or on our calendar. Registration is required for all groups. To register, please call 888.501.7077.

Coffee and Conversation: A Morning Grief Support Group

This gathering is designed to create a safe space for sharing and learning about grief, helping attendees feel less isolated.  We will discuss common experiences of grief and explore coping strategies to support you on your grief journey. Please call before coming, so we are sure to have enough coffee! 

Evening Grief Support Groups

This group is for anyone 18 years and older grieving the death of a loved one.  Please call 888.501.7077 to register.
Pasadena office - group meets for six consecutive weeks 
Largo office - group meets monthly

Child Loss Group

This group seeks to provide gentle social and emotional support to parents grieving the death of a child, regardless of age or circumstance.  *Group meets the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to Noon.  

Loss of Life Partner/Spouse

This group is for career-aged adults grieving the death of a spouse or non-married life-partners.  Group generally meets the third Wednesday of the month in the evening.  Limited childcare availability      

SoulCollage® Grief Support Group

This grief support group utilizes an innovative collage technique known as SoulCollage ®.  Participants create a series of collages to commemorate lost loved ones and to visually journal the grief process.  

Together ... Silent No More
A Support Group For those Grieving a Loss Due to Substance Abuse 

This monthly drop-in support group is designed for those who have lost a loved one due to substance abuse and will address issues common to this particular type of loss.

Suicide Grievers

A professionally facilitated group held for those 18 years and over who are grieving the death of a loved one by suicide.  

* Please check the program schedule or calendar for specific dates and times as group meetings may change.    

Inclement Weather: In the event that poor weather or driving conditions are expected, check the radio or television for public school closings.  The group will be cancelled if schools are closed in the county where the group is being held.
