We also have programs and services for individuals and families whose lives are impacted by an unexpected diagnosis or life limiting illness. In addition, we offer professional grief support and education to local businesses, schools, facilities, organizations and professionals. 

Our varied programs and services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients. We utilize a holistic model of care realizing that grief and life changes uniquely affects each person physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and socially.

Professional Continuing Education

Chesapeake Life Center is pleased to provide continuing educational opportunities to professionals and community members on topics of grief and strategies for coping with loss and life transitions. Chesapeake Life Center is an approved sponsor of the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for continuing education credits for licensed social workers in Maryland. Many of our trainings have also been approved by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.

We just concluded our 2016 Fall continuing education programs, including our first full day grief conference Grief in the 21st Century.

Chesapeake Life Center at Hospice of the Chesapeake is authorized by the Board of Social Work Examiners in Maryland to sponsor social work continuing education programs and maintains full responsibility for this program.  This training qualifies for Category I continuing education units.

Speaker Series

Our counselors are routinely presenting educational seminars in the community. These include presentations tailored to an agency’s specific need, speaking at local and national conferences and partnering with agencies wishing to host a professional education course. Chesapeake Life Center staff provides a variety of offerings to local businesses, schools, facilities and organizations whose members may be experiencing a difficult diagnosis or loss.
